Mr. Amar Chand Dhiman is from very small town named Bathu near Nangal Bhakra Bam in Himachal Pradesh. After his short period of work in Mumbai and nothing on him, he returned back to Ambala in the year 1961 and started to work at local renowned Scientific firm. A.C. Dhiman was one such man who could not take orders and work under someone and therefore left his job after a month. With the passion and potential to be an Entrepreneur, A.C. Dhiman took up a small credit from the market itself and started Amar Chand Co. (ACCO) in a single room.
Being a wooden technologist with a flair for achieving perfection and a desire to develop new equipment, he primarily designed and manufactured very small item of Scientific Lab use.
ACCO received its very first order from Hargolal and Sons. Being the first order, A.C. Dhiman put in everything that he could and dedicated a continuous of 72 hours to complete the order on time.
Within a period of 1 year and at the age 22. AC. Dhiman built a great market credibility for his dedication and ethics put in his hard work for his business. In 1963, ACCO manufactured a new product named Slide Cabinet. Slide Cabinet became a star product for ACCO which gave them great recognition in many big organizations like Punjab Agricultural University, who imported the same till that time. More equipment such as Slide Storage. Entomology, Biology & Zoology were introduced periodically within a span of 2 years. Tissue Culture Racks were Developed through R & D efforts of 'ACCOÃ¢€˜ team under the able guidance of Mr. A. C. Dhiman.
ACCO started receiving orders from throughout the country, universities and research institutes thoughout the country.
ACCO grew as a leading manufacturer of sophisticated wooden and metallic laboratory equipment by providing superb quality and commendable perfection with continuous interaction with scientists and research scholars of various institutes of India.
A.C. Dhiman is not only a technocrat but also a big revolutionary who has brought many changes being the secretary of the association for 10 years to Ambala Scientific Instruments Manufacturers Association (ASIMA ). He has also been a President of Bharat Vikas Parishad and brought upliftment in Ambala Cantonment & to railway stations.
ACCO was the 1st to introduce Laminar Air Flow in North India in the year 1991. AC, Dhiman also brought in Bio-safety Cabinets and Fume Hoods etc. It recently received the Rate contract by UNOPS for the supply of 40 Laminar Airflows to various blood banks across the country.
Along with the other present products, ACCO also designed and developed machinery like Circular Cutter, Tong and Groove and Sharpner to manufacture their products.
